Apple is preparing to revolutionize its wearable lineup by integrating cameras into its smartwatches. The standard series is expected to feature a discrete camera embedded within the display, while the Ultra model could have a side-mounted lens near the Digital Crown. The addition will enable AI-powered features, allowing the devices to analyze the environment and provide contextually relevant information—an evolution of the visual intelligence capabilities first seen on the iPhone 16.
Additionally, a similar camera-equipped design is rumored for the upcoming AirPods, marking a broader move into the AI wearable market. Apple aims to leverage these features through its in-house AI models by 2027. The move, led by Mike Rockwell, underscores Apple’s strategy of improving existing product lines with cutting-edge technology rather than launching entirely new devices.
