WhatsApp is preparing to improve its media-sharing features by introducing a motion photo feature. This innovative addition will allow users not only to capture a static image but also a few seconds of motion and sound the moment the photo is taken, creating an immersive experience that combines the essence of photography with the video.
The new feature, currently in its beta phase for Android, is designed to offer users more flexibility by sharing memories. When selecting a photo to be sent, a new option will appear that allows users to choose between sending a traditional static image or the dynamic version of the movement. This option will be available in individual chats, group conversations, and channels.
Even if the recipient’s device does not support the motion format, the animated version is expected to play automatically, ensuring that the lively element of the moment is not lost. For iOS users, a similar experience will likely be offered through Live Photos.
WhatsApp’s upcoming update will merge the benefits of photos and videos, bringing users a fresh and engaging way to relive and share their special moments.
